The baseball posteason is starting on Friday, September 30th, with the American League Division Series opening at night. The 2011 ALDS schedule will feature the Tampa Bay Rays versus Texas Rangers, and the Detroit Tigers versus New York Yankees. All of the games will be available for viewing on television, as well as on live stream video online coverage.
In the first series, it will be the Texas Rangers hosting the hot Tampa Bay Rays. This game will be televised on TBS starting at 5:07PM EST. Game 2 takes place Saturday 10/1 and will be shown at TNT at 7:07PM EST. Game 3 is scheduled for 5:07PM on Monday at Tampa Bay, with TV coverage on TBS. If necessary, Game 4 at Tampa Bay is on Tuesday, and Game 5 at Texas is on Thursday 10/6. The final two games are "to be determined" in terms of start time.
In the second series, it's the New York Yankees hosting the Detroit Tigers. Game 1 starts at approximately 8:37PM EST on TBS. Game 2 will be played on Saturday at 8:37PM EST, with Game 3 at Detroit on Monday at 8:37PM. If necessary, Game 4 at Detroit is on Tuesday 10/4, while Game 5 is at New York on Thursday 10/6. All of the games in this series will be shown on TBS.
Update 9/30: Game 1 of the ALDS between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees was suspended due to rain. The game will resume play on Saturday, October 1st at 8:30pm EST with a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second. Game 2 has been moved to Sunday at 3PM EST.
In addition to TBS and TNT television coverage above, games will be shown at Postseason.TV, a live online MLB video feed service. Fans must purchase one of two packages to watch the games online. Package 1 includes all ALDS and NLDS games for $3.99, while Package 2 adds in the NLCS games for a total of $5.99. Purchasing this will allow fans a way to watch the games using their PC, laptop or mobile device.
Roanoke TV viewers can watch games on Cox Cable channel 6 for TBS and channel 58 for TNT.
