In retrospect — I have heard wonderful things about The National Trust for Historic Preservation and its Niagara Day excursion for the conference visitors to the Niagara area. Tom Yots, a former resident and still our cheerleader, shared the following information to let our community know that the Niagara Region was very well received:

“To All My Friends from Niagara Day, what can I say... it was a smashing success! We had hoped for 100-125 people and got over 350 who came on Friday. The Trust put on extra buses to accommodate all of those at the Convention Center who wanted to come to Niagara. And what a day it was ... the tours were well received, people loved the park and we got good positive feed back on the local restaurants. I cannot say enough how cooperative and helpful the staff in the state park was that day. They did everything they could do to help and much more than we would have thought possible. There were even times when the parks staff shuttled people to find missing purses or to make it to an event on time. The reception at the Tatler was the icing on the cake. People were amazed at the elegant setting, the piano, the silver coffee service and the warmth of the women of the Tatler. The mayor spoke to them and many city hall department heads were there to mingle and greet the attendees.  Following the reception I took them on the Trolley to see the lights on the Falls and they were thrilled. Louise and I put the last 36 people on the bus to Buffalo at 11pm and when we said good bye they burst into spontaneous applause. Now that was a great day! Thank you for all that each of you did to make this happen.  his could never have happened without all of us working together for over a year and it was well worth the hard work we put in.”  Sincerely, Tom Yots

So, it was not just Buffalo, they loved it here also! Be proud of your city.
