A The Jets rolled up 318 yards of offense and finally got their rushing attack going, running for a season-high 162 yards. The most impressive thing is how they climbed back from an 11-point deficit twice and outscored San Diego 17-0 in the second half. Shonn Greene 's 112 yards on 20 carries marked just his fifth 100-yard rushing performance. Mark Sanchez was efficient (18-for-33, 173 yards, 1 INT), throwing three touchdown passes for the fifth time in his career. Plaxico Burress was the dominant red-zone presence the Jets have been looking for, reeling in all three of Sanchez's touchdown tosses The Jets were much better on third downs. They converted 7 of 14 attempts, finally allowing them to sustain scoring drives.
A Trailing 21-10 at the half, this unit didn't yield a point in the second half. They forced two turnovers that led to the final 10 points, and held the Chargers, one of the league's best teams in third-down conversions, in check on third down in the second half. San Diego managed to convert only 1 of 7 third-down attempts in the half. Darrelle Revis collected another interception and second-year man Kyle Wilson picked up the first interception of his career in the fourth quarter.
B+ Nick Folk drilled both of his attempts, nailing field goals of 35 and 30 yards. The placekicker has been perfect this season, converting all 10 attempts. Joe McKnight didn't break off a lengthy kick return but was solid with a 26.3 average on three returns. Punter T.J. Conley didn't have a great day, averaging 36.7 yards on his three punts.
B+ The Jets had a good game plan and sticking with the run as much as they did was one of the keys to victory. About the only gripe was their conservative playcalling at the end of the game. Taking out Plaxico Burress when they were facing third-and-goal at San Diego's 3 with 1:48 left was a head-scratcher.
