Ray Rice Sets Up Ricky Williams For Dagger In Texans - Baltimore Beat Down

With four minutes left in last Sunday's game, the Baltimore Ravens held a slim five point lead over the Houston Texans. Already in field goal range, three points would have given the Ravens an eight point lead, although one score by the Texans could still tie it up. Running back Ray Rice took care of that possible dilemma, as he scampered 27 yardss down to the four yard line to set up a short run by Ricky Williams to seal the victory.

Williams' run may have been that final dagger in Houston's heart, but Rice's ability to maintain his footing and balance to get the ball near the goal line was the play that broke the game open. Kudos needs to go to the offensive line for opening the hole for Rice, but putting his hand on the ground to keep extending the play when others probably would have been down by contact was all classic Ray. Major props to fullback Vonta Leach, who proved why the Ravens signed him and showed why the Texans miss him so much, as he stood up the Houston linebacker on Ricky's run, so he could score standing.

There were a few other plays that could have been the one moment when it appeared the tide had changed and the game was secured, but despite the great deep bombs that QB Joe Flacco threw of 51 and 56 yards to rookie WR Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin, respectively, both drives culminated in Billy Cundiff field goals that allowed the Texans to remain within one score of taking the lead.

That's why we present the honor of the Mini Coupe 'Power Play of the Week' to Ray Rice.
