Broncos take it easy as Elvis Dumervil, other injured players recover - The Denver Post

The Broncos are doing everything they can to get healthy in time for Sunday's game at defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay.

That includes a week without padded practices.

The Broncos are wearing shorts and shells and their jerseys - no pads — for today's practice, which began around 11 a.m., a change from their routine of the first three weeks of the season.

The switch likely is to allow banged up players to continue to heal, and partly because of the new collective bargaining agreement, which substantially restricts the number of times teams can engage in full contact practices during the regular season.

The Broncos again have all of their defensive players participating in practice, with cornerback Champ Bailey, defensive end Elvis Dumervil, defensive tackle Marcus Thomas and linebacker D.J. Williams all on the field for the second consecutive day.

The only players who remain out for the Broncos (and will not play against the Packers) are receivers Eddie Royal and Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas.
