D'ANGELO, FLYNN, MILBRAND AWARDED NFMMC's JUNIOR VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIPS; MEMORIAL ANNOUNCES PREMIER 2012 CO-CHAIRS
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has awarded 2011 Junior Volunteer Scholarships to Nicholas D'Angelo, Zoe Flynn and Mitch Milbrand. The scholarships are funded by the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation and Auxiliary.
D'Angelo, a 2011 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, will enroll this fall in the criminal justice program at Niagara County Community College. He was a junior volunteer at Memorial for four years.
Flynn, also a 2011 Niagara Falls High School graduate, will enroll as a chemistry major at the State University of New York at Albany. She was a junior volunteer for four years.
Milbrand, a 2011 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, will begin his freshman year as a Criminal Justice major at Hilbert College. He was a junior volunteer for 4 years.
Junior Volunteer Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who have volunteered at least two years and 100 hours at NFMMC or Schoellkopf Health Center.
Debi and Mark D. Perry, M.D., and Judith Nolan Powell have been named co-chairs of The 2012 Premier, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's annual black tie dinner and entertainment gala.
Dr. Perry is a radiologist and a member of Memorial's medical staff and its board of directors.
Ms. Nolan Powell, a retired HSBC Bank USA executive, also serves on the medical center's governing board.
The Premier will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls. The event will honor state Sen. George D. Maziarz and Naresh Jain, M.D., for their service to the hospital.
Proceeds from the 2012 Premier will support obstetrical and gynecological services at Memorial's Mary C. Dyster Women's Pavilion.
