FLINT, Michigan — Despite having seven carries for 25 yards and a touchdown from Flint Southwestern grad and former University of Alabama star Mark Ingram on Saturday, the New Orleans Saints (1-1) dropped their Week 2 match up of the NFL preseason 27-14 to the Houston Texans (2-0).
Ingram scored his touchdown on a one-yard run in the second quarter, but the Saints defense couldn't corral the Texans' ground game. Texans back Arian Foster rushed for two scores, while Ben Tate scored once and rushed for 95 yards.
Through two weeks of the preseason, Ingram has two touchdowns — both rushing — accompanied by 48 yards on 13 carries (3.7 yards per touch). Ingram had a 14-yard touchdown during a 24-3 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. He had a seven-yard carry against the Texans, which was his longest of the game in Week 2.
Flint Carman-Ainsworth grad and former Grand Valley State standout Dan Skuta is poised to contribute to the Cincinnati Bengals' efforts to defeat the New York Jets at 7 p.m.
