Madonna Plans Massive Gig During London Olympics 2012
Madonna is making plans to perform an enormous gig in London during next summer’s Olympic games.
The Olympics are set to run from July 27 through August 12. The singer’s comeback concert is expected to draw in excess of 50,000 fans to the Hyde Park concert. The concert could be part of a tour to help promote Madonna’s recently announced and forthcoming 12th studio album.
“Madonna is planning a huge comeback,” a source told The Sun. “She’s been out of the limelight musically for a while but is ready to jump back into the saddle.”
Madonnas has lived plenty of her life in the limelight. The singer, who is in her 50s, broke into the music scene during the 80s with hit songs such as “Borderline” and “Live To Tell.” Controversy often surrounded the starlet, who sang openly of the experience of sexual exploration and innocence lost with her song “Like a Virgin.”
Her stage shows often garnered a lot of negative attention, as she would wear provocative costumes and grind the stage. She continued on her road to fame during the later part of the decade and early 90s with hits like “Justify My Love,” “Hanky Panky,” “The Power of Goodbye,” and “Broken.”
The superstar began a slow evolution toward more spiritual living after the birth of her daughter Lourdes. She has more than 300 million albums across the globe and remains one of the most popular musical performers in the world.
