Broncos' Elvis Dumervil sits out practice for Lions game - The Denver Post

Mother Nature shook up the Broncos' practice plans today, with several inches of snow forcing the team inside for its first practice in preparation for Sunday's game against Detroit inside.

The team traveled a couple of miles by bus to the South Suburban Sports Dome for the two-hour practice. The team expects to be back on the Dove Valley practice fields, and in full pads, on Thursday.

The Broncos expect to be without at least one, possibly two, starters for Sunday's game against 5-2 Detroit, as running back Willis McGahee and defensive end Elvis Dumervil were unable to practice because of injuries sustained in last week's victory at Miami.

McGahee had surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken bone in his right hand. Knowshon Moreno is expect to receive his second start of the season, with Lance Ball also receiving carries.

Dumervil suffered a sprained ankle. He is out of the walking boot he was wearing earlier this week, but could only watch practice today from the sidelines.
