Jets WR Logan Payne dislocates left wrist; MRI on Tuesday
The Daily News has learned that wide receiver Logan Payne suffered a dislocated left wrist during last night’s 17-3 win against the Giants. Payne, whose wrist was reset, didn’t return to the game. He will undergo an MRI this morning to determine if there is ligament damage, according to a source.
Payne, who is battling Patrick Turner for the final wideout spot on the roster, was injured during the Jets’ second punt of the game midway through the first quarter. Giants’ Antrel Rolle pushed Payne into Jacquian Williams during the return. Payne immediately grabbed his left wrist in pain.

Mozilla has updated its Firefox browser to patch three critical security holes.
Firefox 3.5.6 and 3.0.16 both fix earlier memory corruption issues. "We presume that with enough effort at least some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code," the security advisory said.
In addition, the earlier version of Firefox 3.5 had two critical vulnerabilities in its technology for playing Ogg-format media, one with the liboggplay media library and one with the libtheora video library.

We'll be paying tribute to the late Jerry Lieber and the late Nick Ashford and their writing partners on tomorow's "Believe Your Ears" music podcast, with some rare music clips for both. But I thought this bit of trivia might be a good way to kick off the week.
Many years ago, a Brazilian Elvis LP included this phonetic "English translation" of Lieber and Stoller's immortal lyric to "Jailhouse Rock." I must have laughed for 20 minutes the first time I saw it reproduced, in Norton Records owner Billy Miller's early rock fanzine Kicks. It was funny then and hasn't lost any of its kick today. And yes, I'm familiar with the books and articles detailing similar mispronunciations in other American rock songs, like "S'cuse me while I kiss this guy" instead of "S'cuse me while I kiss the sky" in Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze." This is the grandfather of all that. In the immortal words of the late, immortal Tonight Show host Jack Paar (Carson's predecessor), I kid you not.

NIAGARA FALLS—Two men were stabbed in the abdomen early Sunday by a man they had accused of breaking into vehicles outside a bar.
The two victims told police they saw the man break into a car just be-fore 4 a.m. near the 1900 block of Welch Avenue and followed him to a nearby home. He came out with another man armed with a baton, as well as a large pit bull dog. An argument followed, during which a 33-year-old Falls Street man and a 27-year-old Niagara Street man each claimed to have been stabbed by the suspect.

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Chase Daniel tossed two touchdown passes in the New Orleans Saints' 40-20 preseason victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Daniel spelled Drew Brees after three series and completed 9-of-18 passes for 191 yards. Brees was sharp as well, engineering scoring drives on each of the Saints' first two possessions, which were capped by rushing touchdowns from Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas. He went 15-of-23 for 189 yards.

A s the Jets made their way down the field earlier this month to a potential game-winning touchdown, Rex Ryan literally was following along, logging plenty of yardage on the sideline as he excitedly ran downfield with his offense.
And it’s not as if Mark Sanchez, LaDainian Tomlinson and Santonio Holmes were leading the way. It was third-string quarterback Greg McElroy and a collection of reserves trying, ultimately unsuccessfully, to win the preseason opener at Houston.
Jets aiming to pile up sacks
Toward the end of last week's preseason game with the Bengals, Jets coach Rex Ryan was talking to defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on the headset.
"Man, Pet, if we don't get a sack today, that's all we're going to hear about," Ryan said.
Moments later, Aaron Maybin sacked Dan LeFevour and Ryan's concerns were wiped out. But this underscores how much the issue of the Jets' pass rush or the perceived lack of a pass rush irritates Ryan and the Jets defense.

: the curb outside Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n' Waffles, just north of Sunset Blvd, where (on Memorial Day evening, Monday, May 28, 2007) actor Cuba Gooding Jr. ("Jerry Maguire") was sitting in his car outside the restaurant waiting to pick up dinner for his family, when he heard gunshots. He saw a young man stumbling towards him who had been wounded in the attack. The young man was bleeding from the neck and collapsed. Cuba called for towels to stem the victim's bleeding, and cradeled him until Cuba was able to flag down a passing police car. Then he stayed at the scene until an ambulance arrived. (Way to go, Cuba!)
