THE 21st Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search has uncovered yet another fresh face and this time she is one of our own.
North Ryde teenager Ashley Reyburn, 14, not only has the looks and the confidence to match, but wasn’t afraid to flaunt it.
She has captured the judges’ eyes at the model search and been selected to attend the NSW roadshow at Westfield Parramatta on Saturday, July 16.
Ashley said it was pure luck and chance that got her noticed.
“My friend and I entered the competition for fun, and I was very shocked when I was selected,” Ashley said.
The hip-hop and jazz dancer, who also plays netball for the North Ryde RSL, said Victoria Secrets model Miranda Kerr was her beauty icon and inspiration.
“I like her, she is very pretty and down-to-earth,” Ashley said.
Kerr, who did not make the competition finals in 1996, made headlines the following year after winning the Dolly Magazine and Impulse Model Competition at only 14. Concerns were raised at the time regarding her photo shoot with some labelling her photos as a form of child exploitation and pornography.
Kerr dismissed the issue and said “the media were trying to cling on to anything remotely to do with paedophilia”.
