Player Updates Headlines Agent: T.O. not retiring :Terrell Owenshas surgery to repair a torn ACL in April and could be ready to return to the field as early as August, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN. Rosenhaus called speculation that the 15-year veteran who will be a free agent when the lockout ends is contemplating retirement "nonsense." Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery in Birmingham, Ala. "He's many, many months into his recovery now. He's doing fantastic," Rosenhaus told ESPN via The Sports Xchange . "He is a legendary healer. He comes back from injury faster than anybody I've ever seen."
(Updated - 6/27/11) Fantasy Analysis We'd be shocked if Owens was back on the field playing at a high level come August. That would mean a full recovery from a torn ACL in just four months -- unheard of for a wide receiver. We suspect he'll take a little bit longer, not to mention find a team willing to give him some playing time. He might wind up on a roster before training camp (and then placed on PUP) or find a home when he's truly healthy. Unless your league has designated roster spots for injured players, Owens isn't worth owning.

Perhaps the toughest position to judge when it comes to the Hall of Fame is wide receiver. A voter himself, Len Pasquarelli says the current logjam could get bigger and murkier if Terrell Owens retires. June 29, 2011 :Shaughnessy's name belongs with other elite NFL innovators
Even with extensive and tedious microfilm research, it is still difficult to accurately pinpoint the exact date on which Clark Shaughnessy first stepped foot on the practice field as an assistant coach and advisor to George Halas in 1951. June 28, 2011 :Owens recovering from knee surgery, expects to play
Terrell Owens is recovering from left knee surgery and plans to be ready to play when the NFL season starts. June 28, 2011 :Our latest 12-team standard mock draft for 2011
