NIAGARA FALLS - The Jamestown High School junior varsity rallied in the waning minutes to pull out a non-league victory over Niagara Falls on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing, 14-13, the Red Raiders took the lead with only 2:21 remained on a 4-yard run by Josh Colwell and a placement by Justin Bernard for a 20-14 win.

Colwell tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Brian Parks and Bernard booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 2:23 left in the first chapter.

That lead held up until late in the first half when the Wolverines scored on a 2-yard run. But the extra point was blocked by Christian Pagan.

Then with eight seconds showing an 8-yard TD pass and a conversion aerial gave Niagara Falls a 14-7 halftime edge.

Hunter Peterson rambled 30 yards to paydirt in the third quarter to make it 14-13, but a two-point conversion failed.

Colwell gained 65 yards on seven carries and Peterson added 32 on seven attempts for the Red Raiders.

Dylan Anthony had seven tackles, Eric Tingue six, and Desmond Carter and Pagan five apiece in the win.

Two fumble recoveries were recorded by Anthony and one each by Peterson and Desmond Carter. Colwell and Peterson picked off passes.

At 10 a.m., next Saturday at Strider Field, Orchard Park comes to town to meet the Red Raiders in their home opener.
