Pull out that old pair of “Blue Suede Shoes” and put the “Hound Dog” to bed because Elvis is coming to town.
Jeff Brewer, an Elvis Presley impersonator, will be in Rome on Oct. 1 to perform a special show at the Rome City Auditorium. Half of the proceeds collected through ticket sales will go to the Supreme Temple Daughters of the Nile Foundation benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a nonprofit public corporation that maintains a permanent endowment fund to benefit Shriners hospitals.
“We want a sold out show to raise as much money as possible,” said Debbie Greer, queen of the Daughters of the Nile, based out of Atlanta.
The daughters are a women’s club affiliated with the Shriners. To be eligible to be a member a woman must be related by birth or married to a Shriner or Master Mason.
Last year the daughters raised $1.5 million to donate to the 22 hospitals in North America.
Greer and fellow member, Jackie Patton, said the organization doesn’t just raise money. The women are constantly busy making gifts, decorations and pillowcases for the children.
“Whatever it takes to make a child happy, we do,” Greer said.
“We’re in the background making sure a child is comfortable,” Patton added.
Both the women are excited about the high energy, Las Vegas-style show Brewer will perform.
“His show is something to see,” Patton said.
Tickets for the show are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The show will be Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. and doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at the Rome Visitors Center. For advanced tickets call Patton at 678-591-9851.
