Elvis fans, rejoice: a day dedicated to The King is here.
The seventh annual Elvis Day Celebration on Saturday at the Emerald River Hotel in Sheffield will feature 20 Elvis Presley tribute artists from around the country to present “A Touch of Elvis.”
The celebration lasts from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the hotel’s ballroom, 4900 Hatch Blvd.
Presley himself performed three times in Sheffield in 1955 during his time working with Sun Records in Memphis, run by Florence native Sam Phillips. Presley died in 1977.
Tickets for the celebration are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, $3 for children ages 8-14 and free for children 7 and younger. Proceeds from the event will go to Shoals Promise — Christmas for Kids in Florence.
