The first big Princess Diana biopic is coming to theaters, and an American actress will portray the late royal. Jessica Chastain, a relatively new name in Hollywood, has landed the part in Caught in Flight, which is scheduled to begin production in March 2012.

The film is said to be a love story detailing Diana's alleged affair with London heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan. German director Oliver Hirschbiegel is set to direct the film, which is -- sans several made-for-TV efforts -- the first big cinematic venture into the life of Diana. Chastain has had a breakout year in 2011, with roles in The Tree of Life and The Help.
