Jets over Bills; Falcons win

UNDATED (AP) — The Dolphins picked up their first win in style, blowing out the Chiefs 31-3 in Kansas City.

Matt Moore engineered Miami's first win in eight outings this season, throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns. He's the first Dolphins quarterback to throw for three scores since Chad Pennington in 2008.

Brandon Marshall caught eight balls for 106 yards and a TD, and teammate Reggie Bush had 92 yards rushing and another score

KC quarterback Matt Cassel (KAS'-uhl) was 20 of 39 for 253 yards.

The Chiefs first loss in five games gives them a 4-4 record at the halfway mark of their season.

Indianapolis is now the only winless team in the NFL. The Peyton Manning-less Colts are 0-9 after absorbing a 31-7 pounding at the hands of the visiting Falcons.

Matt Ryan hooked up with Julio Jones for TD passes of 50 and 80 yards in a third straight win that gets Atlanta to 5-3.

Indianapolis gave up 14 points off two turnovers, failed to score on offense and did not produce a first down during a span of nearly 30 minutes.

The Colts have lost five straight home games for the first time since 2001 and are in danger of opening 0-10 for the first time since 1997, before the Manning era began.

It marks Atlanta's first road victory in a series that dates to 1966.

Drew Brees passed for 258 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints' 27-16 victory over visiting Tampa Bay. At 6-3, the Saints are a half-game ahead of second-place Atlanta in the NFC South race and 1 1/2 games up on the Buccaneers.

New Orleans also piled up 195 yards on the ground.

Brees' first scoring strike in the first quarter gave him TD passes in 36 straight games, tying Brett Favre (fahrv) for the second-longest streak in NFL history. He'll need to keep it going into next season in order to tie Johnny Unitas, who had scoring passes in 47 straight games.

The Saints visit the Falcons next week.

San Francisco improves its NFC West-leading record to 7-1 under first-year coach Jim Harbaugh with a 19-11 victory over the Redskins at Washington. Frank Gore rushed for 107 yards in the 49ers' sixth straight victory. It's the club's longest winning streak since 1997.

Niners quarterback Alex Smith completed 17 of 24 passes for 197 yards and a TD, and David Akers booted four field goals.

The Niners defense -- the stingiest in the NFL when it comes to scoring -- forced three turnovers while helping the Redskins drop to 3-5.

Mark Sanchez overcame a rough start and the Jets' defense forced three turnovers as visiting New York beat Buffalo 27-11 in a key AFC East midseason showdown. Both teams are 5-3.

Sanchez went 20 of 28 for 230 yards to help overcome a pair of first-half turnovers.

The Jets' third straight win is their first of the season away from home after three straight losses and follows a three-game losing streak.

Mark Sanchez' 8-yard touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes late in the third quarter helped blow open the game.

The Jets' D sealed the win in the first minute of the fourth quarter when Calvin Pace and Bart Scott combined to stop Fred Jackson on fourth-and-inches at the New York 15.

Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two interceptions before adding a garbage-time TD with 3:14 left in Buffalo's first home loss of the season.

Playing a fifth straight game without All-Pro receiver Andre Johnson, Houston used a potent ground attack to beat visiting Cleveland 30-12 .Arian Foster rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown and backfield mate Ben Tate ran for 115 and a score as the Texans improve their AFC South-leading record to 6-3.

Browns quarterback Colt McCoy made his first NFL start in the state where he starred in college. The former Texas Longhorn completed only 14 passes for 146 yards with an interception and was sacked four times.

The Browns mustered only 172 yards of offense while falling to 3-5.

Tony Romo threw two second-half touchdown passes to spark the Cowboys' 23-13 win over visiting Seattle.

Dallas rookie DeMarco Murray continues to shine. He carried 22 times for 139 yards and caught four passes for 47 yards.

The Cowboys' defense bounced back from a lousy effort in Philadelphia last Sunday by holding the Seahawks without a touchdown until midway through the fourth quarter.

Dallas improves to 4-4 while Seattle is 2-6 following a third straight loss.

Also today, Green Bay's unbeaten record is on the line in San Diego, Denver is at Oakland, Cincinnati is at Tennessee, Arizona is hosting St. Louis and the New York Giants are at New England.

Tonight's game is a much-anticipated rematch between the Steelers and visiting Ravens. Baltimore manhandled Pittsburgh 35-7 at home in the season opener. But the Ravens have struggled the past two weeks while the Steelers are riding a four-game winning streak.
