The Eagles rallied from an eight-point deficit late. QB Johnny Salazar finished with three touchdowns and 173 yards also scored a rushing touchdown.
Johnny Salazar scored on a 1-yard run and then threw a pass for the two-point conversion to pull La Sierra even with Moreno Valley, 14-14, after three quarters.
The Eagles’ tying points came after Moreno Valley was called for roughing the kicker on a field goal. That gave La Sierra a first-and-goal at the Moreno Valley 8-yard line.
UPDATE: Matthew Evans’ 1-yard run on fourth-and-goal has given Moreno Valley a 14-6 lead over La Sierra at halftime of their Inland Valley League game.
After the first quarter, it’s Moreno Valley 7, Riverside La Sierra 6.
The Eagles scored on a 10-yard Johnny Salazar pass but then missed the PAT.
The Vikings came back and scored on its first possession, thanks to a 1-yard run by Imeria Talia.
