both sustained injuries in the Jets 37-16 loss to the Patriots on Sunday night.
Turner left the game with a kidney injury and said he just has a contusion, although it came with a frightening symptom when he urinated blood at halftime. Kerley came back in after sustaining a knee injury. Kerley, a rookie, said that he did not have the results back yet from an MRI, but did not expect to practice on Tuesday. The team leaves Wednesday for Denver.
Jets coach Rex Ryan said in his Monday press conference that he had only had one conversation with the head trainer John Mellody, so he wasn't sure exactly what the extent of the injuries were. Both Kerley and Turner were listed on as "did not practice" on the injury report.
Kerley's knee was hurt on a punt return. He said he had the MRI but hadn't yet gotten the results.
"I caught it and tried to make a move real quick and he hit my knee and just kind of got twisted up," Kerley said. He later returned to the game, although he didn't return any more punts. "I was running I was just straight adrenaline so I felt good."
Turner, a third-year wideout, believes he was hurt after taking a hit in the second quarter following a 10-yard catch.
He didn't feel any immediate pain but realized there was a problem after he urinated blood in the locker room at halftime.
"I was never in pain at any point in time. That's what made it even more frustrating," said Turner, who added that there was no blood in his urine on Monday.
Turner, whose lone reception on the season came on Sunday against the Patriots, will have to be cleared by doctors to return to the practice field.
