It’s the dark of night and all is quiet in Drummond Hill Cemetery.

But not for long as restless “spirits” from Niagara Falls past will again be inhabiting what’s billed as one of the most haunted burial grounds in Canada. Starting this weekend, Niagara Falls Museums starts its annual walking tours of the cemetery, offering visitors a unique opportunity to discover another side of Niagara Falls’ history.
Guides will lead performances that provide a glimpse into the lives of some of the famous and not so famous people from the history of Niagara Falls. The tours include music, theatrical scenes, costumed performers and vignettes of people who are buried in the cemetery.
The tours are developed and directed by staff with the help of more than 30 volunteers. Tours will take place on Fridays and Saturdays starting Oct. 14 and ending on Oct. 29. The tours run at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Tours are most appropriate for audiences 14 and up. In a new twist for this year, there will also be an afternoon tour at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Refreshments will be served after each tour.
The cost is $12 per person. Tickets are available by reservation only, by visiting the Niagara Falls History Museum at 5049 Victoria Ave. or by calling 905-358-5082. Space is limited, and tickets will not be sold at the door.
