The Houston Texans came into this season with high hopes of finally clinching a playoff berth and making it into the postseason for the first time in franchise history. With superstar quarterback Peyton Manning out for what could be the entire season for the Indianapolis Colts, the Houston Texans have a perfect opportunity to run the table in AFC South division as long as they can stay healthy throughout the NFL regular season.
Unfortunately, the Texans suffered a pretty big blow before the season even started with Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster injuring his hamstring twice during the preseason and training camp. Despite the injury to their star running back, the Texans were able to hit the ground running and have gotten off to an impressive 3-1 start to the season.
With the first place standing in the AFC South division and being arguably one of the best teams in the league this season with an improved defense, the Houston Texans are a force to be reckoned with this season, but suffered another major hit to the offense with perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson going down with a hamstring injury.
Even though the Houston Texans aren’t struggling at the moment and look like they are almost certainly playoff bound this season, losing Andre Johnson could have serious consequences with the Tennessee Titans breathing down their necks. Now that Matt Hasselback and company are much better than expected, the Titans could be the Texans biggest threat in the AFC South this season.
Reportedly, Andre Johnson’s hamstring injury isn’t serious, but he will miss at least three weeks as a result. This injury couldn’t come at a worse time with the Houston Texans next three games being against the Oakland Raiders (2-2), Baltimore Ravens (3-1) and the division rival Tennessee Titans (3-1).
