Houston Texans Andre Johnson Injury Update

The Houston Texans can breathe a sigh of relief, as their star wide receiver Andre Johnson’s injury doesn’t appear as serious as originally speculated.

Johnson went to the ground clutching his right leg after a reception in the first half of Houston’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The Houston Chronicle reports that it appears to be a hamstring injury.

“There is going down, and then there is going down” Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said after the game.  “The way he went down was deflating because it was like he just got shot so that’s scares the heck out of you”.

Reliant Stadium was so silent you could hear a pin drop, as the Texans medical staff attended to Johnson on the field. He was able to walk off the field, but spent the remainder of the game on the sidelines.

Johnson will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
