Lady Antebellum to sing anthem before Jets opener

NEW YORK — Grammy-winning country group Lady Antebellum will replace Mary J. Blige and sing the national anthem before the Dallas Cowboys-New York Jets game Sunday night.

In a release Thursday, the Jets said the NFL informed them of the change because Blige had "a conflict."

The team announced earlier this week several plans to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks before the game and at halftime.

Some of the plans include each fan receiving an American flag as they enter MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, and children of first responders serving as honorary team captains. Bagpipers representing the FDNY, NYPD and PAPD will also perform "Amazing Grace."
