Elvis fans stage fundraising bid

Elvis fans will stage a tribute night to the ‘King’ to raise money for two firefighters’ charities.

Organised by Brinsley fire fighter Arron Enever, devotees of the king of rock ‘n’ roll Elvis Presley and charity supporters will come together for a second fundraising event at Underwood Miners’ Welfare.

At the first event two years ago, Mr Enever raised £2,000, and this time round he plans to beat it.

“I held a similar event a couple of years ago and I just hope this event is as successful. It would be great if we could raise event more,” he said.

The 28-year-old, who has served in the fire service for the last four years and works from Beeston station, is raising money for the Firefighters Charity and the Nottinghamshire Firefighters Memorial Fund.

The Firefighters Charity takes care of sick and injured Firefighters during their times of need, and assists over 13,500 individuals every year. The Nottinghamshire Firefighters’ Memorial Appeal was set-up to raise money for the building of a memorial in memory of all those firefighters who have lost their lives throughout the years in Nottinghamshire.

The event will take place at Underwood Miners Welfare on September 10.

Tickets are available from Arron at a cost of £5 and the event starts at 8pm.
